India scored 170 in 48 overs after opting to bat against Australia in the sixth One Day International of the Hero Honda Cup series at the Nehru Stadium here on Sunday afternoon.

A top-order collapse that left the host reeling at 27 for five was tided past as skipper M.S. Dhoni (24), Ravindra Jadeja (57) and Praveen Kumar (54 n.o.) scored valuable runs on a two-paced pitch not conducive for strokes.

For the Australians, left-arm seamers Mitchell Johnson (three for 39) and Doug Bollinger (five for 35) struck in tandem to upset Dhoni’s plans of a competitive total in a critical game for the Indians while Australia leads the seven-match series 3-2.
