Aushik Srinivas scalps seven

Left-arm spinner Aushik Srinivas’s career best seven for 87 enabled holder Vijay CC dismiss Globe Trotters for 265 at the MRF-Pachaiyappa's ground on the first day of the fourth round, here, on Sunday, in the TNCA first division league.

Srinivas returned compelling figures of 27.5-6-87-7. And he formed a deadly combination with K. Shri Vasudeva Das who took five catches at slip, all off Srinivas’ bowling. All 10 wickets in the Trotters innings fell to catches. For Trotters, the left-handed Sridharan Sriram (63, 95b, 11x4) and S. Dinesh (59, 105b, 9x4) and Y. Gnaneswara Rao (42) offered some resistance. Vijay CC was 26 for two in reply.

At IIT-Chemplast Jolly Rovers bundled out Aruna CC for 167; J. Koushik (55, 105b, 10x4) top-scored. The host was 120 for four at stumps.

Petson Mathews (106 not out, 233b, 8x4, 1x6) impressed as Young Stars ended the day at 234 for six against TI Cycles at the Murugappa ground. K. Martin Sanjeev contributed 51 (70b, 7x4, 1x6).

Leg-spinner M. Ashwin (five for 95) assumed centre-stage at CPT with host India Pistons ending the IOB innings at 279. Pramod Das (52, 62b, 9x4, 1x6) and M.R. Muthupandi (58, 76b, 10x4, 1x6) came up with handy innings for IOB.

V. Ganga Sridhar Raju (97 batting, 284b, 10x4, 1x5) and B. Indrajith (83, 220b, 8x4) put on 184 for the second wicket in 74 overs for UFCC (T. Nagar) against Indian Bank at MAC. At stumps, it was 222 for two.

Left-handed Varun Anand (94, 252b, 14x4) and N. Ajay Kudua (56) raised 118 for the fourth wicket for Alwarpet against Grand Slam at RKM-Vivekananda. At close, Alwarpet was 225 for six.

The scores: At MRF-Pachaiyappa's ‘A’: Globe Trotters 265 in 80.5 overs (S. Sriram 63, S. Dinesh 59, Y. Gnaneswara Rao 42, Aushik Srinivas seven for 87) vs Vijay 26 for two in five overs.

At IIT-Chemplast: Aruna 167 in 59.3 overs (J. Koushik 55) vs Jolly Rovers 120 for four in 34 overs.

At MAC: UFCC (T. Nagar) 222 for two in 90 overs (V. Ganga Sridhar Raju 97 batting, B. Indrajith 83) vs Indian Bank.

At RKM-Viveka: Alwarpet 225 for six in 93 overs (Varun Anand 94, N. Ajay Kudua 56) vs Grand Slam.

At CPT-IP: IOB 279 in 84.4 overs (Pramod Das 52, M.R. Muthupandi 58, M. Ashwin five for 95) vs India Pistons six without loss in three overs.

At Murugappa: Young Stars 234 for six in 92 overs (Petson Mathews 106 not out, K. Martin Sanjeev 51) vs TI Cycles.
