St. Joseph’s College of Engineering (190 points) bagged the overall (men & women) championships in the three-day St. Joseph’s-south zone inter-collegiate athletics meet, which concluded at the Nehru Stadium here on Thursday. MOP Vaishnav finished second with 136 points.
Loyola clinched took the top spot in the men’s category with 127 points while MCC (68) came second.
The women’s championship was a closely fought affair with MOP Vaishnav finishing first with 136 points to St. Joseph’s 124.
M. Vijayakumar, Member-Secretary, Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu, gave away the prizes in the presence of W.I. Davaram, President, Tamil Nadu Athletics Association and Babu Manoharan, Director, St. Joseph’s COE.

Girls: 200m: R. Radhika (Ethiraj) 25.7; 400m: R. Radhika (Ethiraj) 64.2; 800m: K. Meenakshi (MOP) 2:28.6; Hepathalon: N. Gayathri (St. Joseph’s) 3756 points; 4x100m relay: MOP Vaishnav.
