Saroj Sihag of CRPF easily was the star of the day as she upset hot favourite and international Seema Antil in the women's discus throw event of the all-India Police athletic meet at the University stadium on Saturday.

Saroj came first in 53.32m while her team-mate Seema could only manage 51.49 for the silver. Baljit Kaur of Punjab came third in 47.12.

Saroj completed a double when she won the shot put event in 14.96m. Smritkana Manna of West Bengal came second in 13.19m while Manjit Kaur of Punjab was third in 13.14m.

At the end of competition on the penultimate day, CRPF with eight gold medals leads the medals tally followed by BSF with six gold medals and Uttar Pradesh with four golds.
