Meb Keflezighi will return to the scene of his last victory to compete in the New York City Half-Marathon.
The New York Road Runners announced that the 2009 NYC marathon champion will compete in the 21 13-mile race on March 21.
He’ll be joined by Abdi Abdirahman, Anthony Famiglietti and Josh Rohatinsky in a men’s field that already includes marathon world record-holder Haile Gebrselassie.
In November, Keflezighi became the first American male to win the New York City Marathon since Alberto Salazar in 1982.
Keflezighi ran the inaugural NYC Half-Marathon in 2006. The four previous events were held in the summer. This marks the first springtime version of the NYC Half-Marathon.
