Three-time Olympic sprint champion Usain Bolt will be Jamaica’s flagbearer at Friday’s opening ceremony for the London Olympics, and he is ready for more medals.
Bolt redefined the men’s sprint with gold medal runs in world record times in the 100 metres, 200m and 4x100m at the 2008 Games in Beijing in 2008.
““Carrying the flag is an honour,” Bolt told a news conference on Thursday after Jamaica’s Olympic committee president Mike Fennel announced him as flagbearer. “For my country Jamaica, I’ll do anything — to be on TV. I’m happy.” Bolt has bested his own records set in 2008, but also has a formidable rival in countryman Yohan Blake, who beat him twice at the Olympic trials, and won the 100m world title last year when Bolt famously false-started.
The 25-year-old said he has recovered from back problems and is ready for more success in London.
“I had slight problems but nothing too serious,” Bolt said.
I am ready to go. The vibe is good and I am happy. I am always ready, for me I keep telling you guys it’s always about the champs, it’s never about one run, never about the trials,” Bolt said.

I'm not at all sure that Usain can win both 100m and 200m. The proof is in the pudding. Already he had a false start in 100m in the last world championships and lost. He was beaten in both 100m and 200m in Jamaica by his team mate. So that shows that his invinciblity is NO more and he has shown he is only human (not a superhuman) and is very vincible, giving others more than hopes of beating him to the finish in both 100m & 200m. Besides his achilles heel is his start which is either slow or even worse false in which case he'll be disqualified. So I won't be surprised at all if he doesn't win gold in both 100m & 200m. We'll see and know in 2 weeks. But that's my 2 cents opinion.
