All 353 players have gone under the hammer, some of them more than once. Saurav Ganguly, Jayasuriya, Chris Gayle, Mark Boucher remain unsold.
Had to end with a bang, typical IPL. And that concludes the player auction for IPL 4. End of the IPL road for some old lions like Saurav Ganguly, Jayasuriya, Chris Gayle, Mark Boucher. Not a taint on the reputation of these greats, I'm sure, rather an indication that IPL is a stage meant for the young. Moreover, there's stil tomorrow, when requests can be made for uncapped players. It's been a pleasure bringing you live updates. Grateful farewell from Ashwin Achal and Anand Venkateswaran.
6:00: A bit of drama again, Pune has requested Kaif back - Pune bids for Kaif, Deccan Chargers want him now. Will Pune bid higher? Pune says no. Changes their mind, $120,000. Is it over? Not by a long shot, says Mallya, who makes a surprise entry into the bid. And Pune backs down, as do Deccan Chargers. Kaif goes to the Royal Challengers - for $130,000.
Now that qualifies as breaking news. No Ganguly, no Gayle in the second round. Good news for Murali Kartik, he was absorbed for $400, 000 by Pune.
5:54: South Africa's Robert Fryinck - $20,000. Delhi bids first. And Frylinck is sold.

5:49: Ah, Colin Ingram, South Africa - $100,000. He's a good batsman, folks. Delhi Daredevils make the bid, no counter-offers, Ingram goes to Delhi.
5:47: Australia's Luke Ronchi $50,000 for the wicketkeeper. Who needs one? Delhi, Pune, no one. Remains unsold.
5:46: Moises Henriques - $50,000 for this Australian. Mumbai INdian bid first, and buy him without challenge.
5:45: South Africa's Bosman - $50,000. Unsold. This is getting a tad tedious. Australia's Xavier Doherty - $100,000. The team owners are actually folding their hands. Unsold

5:30: Lendl Simmons, for $50,000, remains unsold.
5:29: Mohammad Kaif, for $100,000. Kaif is unsold. Murali Kartik, base price $200,000. travesty if he's not picked up this time around. Pune is interested, make the opening bid. Royals want him now, both teams raising their semaphores in succession now. Murali's price now $400,0000, Pune's that last bid. And Pune have bought Murali Kartik.
5:26: This is quite strange. The players don't come under the hammer unless a team has requested it. And yet, no bidders.
5:26: Australia's Daniel Harris, $20,000 He goes unsold too. South Africa's David Miller, for $100,000. No bidding. Dillon du Preez is also unsold.

Australian allrounder Daniel Christian bagged the highest bid of $900,000 from Deccan Chargers as the Indian Premier League player-auction failed to replicate its Saturday-high on a tepid Sunday. Auctioneer Richard Madley repeatedly said, “he is unsold”, with only 42 cricketers from a pool of 264, gaining approval from the teams among which King’s XI Punjab failed to buy even one player. Right now the team owners are huddled together to look at players thay can re-consider from the rejected list.

3:08: For those who came in late, here's more from Vijay Kumar -
In the IPL player auction, Ausralian allrounder Daniel Christian gained the highest price on Sunday at $900,000 from Deccan Chargers, which was a sensational jump from his base price of $50,000. “He is a very good allrounder and he is worth the money,” said Gayathri Reddy, one of the co-owners of Deccan Chargers.
Meanwhile Chennai Super Kings coach Stephen Fleming said that his team wanted a sense of continuity and camaraderie from the earlier squad besides indulging in some fresh players. “We want that continuity to go on and we have brought back a few players. We do have a few spots available and we will decide our plans during the lunch break,” Fleming said.
3:06: Here's something to chew on while the tournament draw is on. Many English players, who came with high base prices, were left unsold over the last day and a half. Sports Correspondent K.C. Vijaya Kumar gets us some perspective -
With a majority of England players being given the cold-shoulder in the Indian Premier League players auction here on Sunday, the IPL chairman Chirayu Amin was asked about whether there was any issue about getting the requisite NOC from the England and Wales Cricket Board. Amin, who addressed the media during the lunch break, said: “There are no issues and there is no controversy. We got the NOC. As for franchises not picking England players, it is up to the team management and the IPL Governing Council cannot do anything about it.” Meanwhile Darren Lehmann, the Deccan Chargers coach, countered and said: “We picked Kevin Pietersen so it all depends on what the teams want.”
3:02: Chennai Super Kings and King's XI Punjab have been asked to make a draw from the hat. Two teams at a time, drawing lots to prepare the schedules - team and venue.
3:01: The bidders are back in the room, they've taken their places on the tables. The semaphores are at the ready, although a little heavier.
Hello and welcome to The Hindu's live updates of the IPL player auction. Team Pune are quite happy with what they have - an impressive line-up that includes Angelo Mathews, Robin Uthappa, and Graeme Smith among others, as well as over a million dollars of bidding money leftover. They're going to wait for the unsold players to be re-auctioned, and put together their dream team. Can they do it? Read on and find out.

The team Rajasthan Royals will be a poor team in 2011 edition.
I am really looking forward to how the teams will fill up for the remaining count of players in their teams with the limited budgets they are left with...
KKR is a balanced side. They will definitely win this time
What! They are not even taking Stuart Clark? What is happening.. BTW, where is Hayden?
Wrecked!!!!, this is unbelievable that our lovable playes remain unsold!
Delhi team is toooo weak compared to last time...except(Sehwag & Warner)
Rajasthan has chosen a very good team with their limited money. It is better to make RAHUL DRAVID as their captain
Kolkata missed Ganguly. . .
This is embarrassing that no one was bidding for Stuart clerk and Ravi Boppara, are they looking for any other options like Ronaldo or Beckam?
Mumbai did a sensible thing by retaining it's 4 best players and choosing Andrew Symonds and Rohit Sharma. Munaf will sharpen the bowling attack with his line n length.
Dunno why Kochi continues to take so many foreign players?
Where is Mathew Hayden in this 4th season of IPL?
KKR is a balanced side. They will definitely win this time, because Yusuf Pathan, Gambhir, Kallis, Lee and other big player stay here.
Mumbai team rokzzz...i love MI ..
Deccan seems to be a pretty strong side...
What is happening for Gayle -it's shocking news that nobody is ready to take him. Where is Hayden ? Not at all coming in the list ?
Royals have a pretty decent side but Kochi has been dissapointing - poor selection by them. They should have taken at least one explosive Indian batter . No chance now for them with a poor batting and pace attack. Punjab and Kolkata and DC were impressive
Sensational team of KKR
itss really very shoking that no one shows intrest towards CHRIS GALE ONE OF THE HARD STRIKER OF THE BALL..........
My favorite Mumbai indians seem to be a great combinations with inclution of Symonds and David Jacob but very disappointed loosing Zak who has been a great performer in the recent time...
Pune seems to be the best so far...Kochi as someone said seems like a Bowling Academy :-)...Chennai is virtually a non Indian team...Hope they know this is INDIAN Premier League
Pune n KKR seems to be the best so far...Kochi as someone said seems like a Bowling Academy :-)...Chennai is virtually a non Indian team...Hope they know this is INDIAN Premier League
I love mumbai....... I love sachin......
i hate 2011 ipl auction...........
without ganguly............
I m a big fan of Ganguly as well as of Shahrukh, but if Ganguly will not get chance to play for KKR, then bengalis like me will never sit infront of TV or will never go to watch the match in the stadium...if Ganguly is not there then change the name of KKR to SKR (Kolkata Knight Riders to ShahRukh Khan Riders)...
mumbai indians should take dada..........people love to see sachin n dada..together...n may be dada will fire....n its also beneficial..for dis season...
Kochi team seems to be good team, 4 test matches
kochi looks like the old punjab team...
In this IPL Punjab and kkr and DC were more impresive MI
has strong ever
Dc team impresses on paper again. Hope they take in rayadu . :-)
Attention KKR, if you want to perform at Eden Garden please bid for DADA not because of he belongs to KOLKATA, because he was the 3rd highest scorer of IPL3. And the fans of DADA will not support KKR without BENGAL TIGER.
i think kochi need some hard hitters.,they should have take gayle...deccan seems to be really charged...
kkr wil rox dis tym.
saurav ganguly still unsold
really shocking
very good decision franchises that you dont take ganguly!
In this IPL Punjab and kkr and DC were more impresive MI
has strong ever
In this IPL Punjab and kkr and DC were more impresive MI

MI rocks in picking players.. RCB sensible in picking players..
Delhities dont watch IPL 4

Southee unsold? He got a hat trick in international T20 about 3 weeks ago!!
I dont think dc have a strong batting line up .they should take ganguly atleast to make it a bit decent
wr kaif. im very happy bcs kkr totally balanced.
Without DADA KKR was nothing....
We miss U
Its very heartening to see that Indian players are sold out for higher prices at the outset
It is not faire that sourave Ganguli remain unsold for ipl auction 4
he should be their in kkr's team.
CSK remains unbeaten. Kochi orange will get flushed:)
In this type of matches we can't forcaste that this team will win ,In 1st IPL Rajasthan Royals was a poor team but surprising all they won the "CROWN" So wait and watch any team can beat any one .this is the enjoy to watch every game for better entertenment.
Chennai na topu..........
Kochi na doopu.............
pune tem is very taf tem
we r miss dada
csk done sensible move !
royal challengers bangalore rocks...... but still needs threatning hitter like gayle...... hayden... gibbs......:) rcb rocks
wt to do with palyers which is unsold????and give the new rules of IPL bids.plzzzz give me a solution
why delhi derdevils is not buy any most popular player?
they have not enough money to buy the popular player.
they buy agarkar,dildo,yadav.....etc like mini cricket ipl cup
maneesh pandey z stil 2 cum.. Commmoon kochi take diz man...
Flash news is Kolkata Knight Riders will be champ by Decharging Deccan and Mumbai will fight for third with Punjab, finaly we can expect channai upto 5th place.
(I believe, I will get more wishes for my prediction after the final of IPL 2011)
ganguly, gayle and all best players unsold"I was shocked",what are franchises are trying to do!
KKR this time wont have the cash flow either no one in bengal is gonna watch a kolkata match without their prince playing in it...
kochi very bad.only one malayali player.this is test team
Tamim has been the best player as per wisdon. How he remains unsold......thats surprise us
Where is Mr.Mathew Hiyden, he will paly with chennai superkings or any other teams?
Ganguly could be a better coach rather than a player.
I expected Gayle in KKR.....
With the money left no team can buy saurav. Bad luck dada
am not impressed in mumbai's team....
xpct little more.... :(
where is hayden??????????????????????????????
Why the hell is kolkata without dada expecting cochi to bid dada kolkata is nt gng to play in their home ground
without ganguly we cant expect kolkatha team, there will a problem in future to sharukh and his teanm
I THINK TEAM KOCHI IS SOME WHAT A BALANCED TEAM...BUT 4 WAT REASON THEY TOOK LAXMAN, RAMESH POWAR IN THIER TEAM...AND I WONDER WATS IN THEIR MIND WHEN TAKING RAVINDRA JADEJA FOR OVER 4 CRORES.... MURALIDHARAN AND JAYAWARDANE WOULD BE THE KEY PLAYER...OFCOURSE KERALA'S OWN SREESANTH...BUT THE BIG QUESTION IS WHETHER THEY HAV A STRONG BATTING LINE UP????
What about DADA, we want dada in IPL..........plzzzzzzzzzzzz
dadha for ever rock star ...i think dc will take him.we r glad to see dada in our dc team
Dada we miss you..................
if laxmi, sourasish lahiri, sanjib sanyal and jhunjhunwala take place in DADA's money, then SRK win the triphoy in this year......SRK R U LISTENINGGGGGGGG? PLZ 'DADA HATHAOOOOOOOOO AND KNIGHT BACHAOOOOOOOO'
Irfan pathan will be thw key player for delhi daredevils...
it,s reduculas that no one is taking our former indian captain gangully
Thank you very much for those live updates. I have been following them throughout the day.
all bengal hate sharukh khan...sharukh kaisa socha ki prince of kalkutta ko chor kar wo eden garden me logo ka suport payega.I WISH THIS TIME HIS TEAM OR BURI TARAH SE HAREGA.,LOSSER.
We will miss u dada .. shame on IPL owners for ignoring him ..btw kkr still sucks ..
I think KKR should win this years IPL. It is a balanced team.
If Sourav Ganguli [DADA] is not there in KKR , IPL KKR team is not like a real KOLKATTA KNIGHT RIDER'S team!!!!!!!!We want DADA. He is the highest run getter for KKR in IPL 2010
No DADA No KKR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I cant really understand why 'Justin Kemp' hasnt been sold!!! He is a real asset to any team with his huge hitting abilities & economical medium pace bowling.
KKR WILL WIN IPL4.THEY R "AWESOME"
kolkata has done a good thing by spending some money in this ipl but i dont think they will make any difference because getting players on high price does not make any difference..gambhir does not deserve that price..ganguly should have been included..
I HAVE FRIST CHOOSE OF KKR TEAM PLYEARS.
without gayle a IPL ,UNBLIVABLE...........??????
I HAVE NO OBJECTION TO KKR.SO I WILL ALSO SUPPORT SRK. THIS TEAM IS VERY BLOUCBUSTER PLYEARS.
Looks like this is a collectionn of a very small number of haves and a large contingent of have nots. Of course, becuse T20 is partly a show and drama it is all right. I believe the team managements are business sauvy so in the next few years they will weed out the expensive but non performing players, some of whom play well in the imagination of the star crazy.
I dont know what logic Fleming is having behind his idea of continuity.
You should try to have a good balance in bowling and batting. CSK will
suffer due to this imbalance - Weak bowling attack. Hope they realise
this soon.;
i think kochi is going 2 form world 11 team...no gayle,hayden... most of d owners r lookin for Mr rajni i guess...?
kkr is not going to earn anything but only lose there base by not taking dada in their team..............this loss will be on both the fronts-1)their perfomance and 2)their popularity.i ,myself was a big fan of kkr bt nw i m nt going to watch even a single game of this edition, infact i am going leave watching cricket forever................i think its time for dada lovers to deny kkr..............
its time to rock on for kkr and king khan very impressive team choosen by badshah.
C'mon kkr grab dada as he is a true fi8tr n also hs prfrmd vry wel in d lst seasn.... U shudnt miss him... Kkr wil b incmplte widout him,.........
Nice Job
miss u dada
bt we think this time KKr must win the IPL 4
Chennai rockz..
Why chennai took johinder and why not they take jacob oram..
I think this tym kkr and mi r strongest teams bt kkr vil loose al its fans since Dada is not there
vil mis dada in ipl 4
We all surely miss u..DADA...ganguly deserved better..it was pity that KKR missed out him,who was its highest run scorer in all editions and crowd puller..
We would like to see Gunguly, Lara
it is very shocking that no one select the chris gayle.he is a teriffic player and dangerous batsman too.i think KKR IS IMPRESSIVE
Csk should taken murali whatever amount he went. Csk desperately missed player like him. Randiv is good take. But it's the CAPTAIN COOL which make difference between csk and other teams. ONCE AGAIN CHENNAI WILL ROCKING with same players. But we miss you murali very much. A great tamilan.
KKR will not reach into semi....Note down
dada ...we miss uuuuuuu...lovable player ganguly...we wont watch ipl4..
I thing kochi teams is balanced with so many foreign players..
I think they must take the explosive batsman gayle..... which makes them extra stronger.....
franchizees hv lost their mind..............not taking ganguly....the 8th most run getter in ipl............
misss you gangly, in Assam
Fucking Shah Rukh can't win without dada..it will be a great disaster ..
Its a good ploy by CSK to retain the core of their players. It aids in coaching and gelling as a team.
Missing To lara & Ganguly. . .
Why didnt any team buy ganguly or gayle?
Deccan Charger is the best players team in this season.
csk will win ipl4
