Anirudh’s ton keeps Hyderabad in the hunt

Century by B. Anirudh (133, 168b, 13x4, 6x6) helped Hyderabad stay in the race for the vital first innings lead against Himachal Pradesh in the All India Cooch Behar Trophy (under-19) cricket tournament here on Monday.

At Ongole, Andhra fought well but Punjab managed to gain first innings lead in an Elite group B league match. In reply to Himachal’s first innings score of 505 for nine declared, Hyderabad was 343 for six at close of play on the third day of the four-day game.

At Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh took the first innings lead against Kerala. Kerala, in reply to Uttar Pradesh’s first innings score of 261, was bundled out for 185 on the third day. Left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav (five for 52) was wrecker-in-chief as Kerala collapsed from 121 for four.

At Hyderabad: Himachal Pradesh 505 for nine decl. vs Hyderabad 343 for six (B. Anirudh 133, G. Rahul Singh 77, S.K. Chaitanya 52 not out).

At Ongole: Andhra 316 and 83 for two in 21 overs (M. Pranith 33 batting, Ricky Bhui 29 batting) vs Punjab 338 in 97.2 overs (Mandeep Singh 82, Prabjyot Singh 58, M.A. Handa 43, V.M. Choudhary 33 n.o., Ch. Sneha Kishore four for 84, Ch. Stephen four for 108).

At Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh 261 & two for no loss in 2.2 overs vs Kerala 185 in 91.3 overs (Akshay Chandran 38, Azharuddin 37, Fabid 31, Kuldeep Yadav five for 52).
