Olympian Adam Sinclair struck five goals to give the defending champion, Indian Overseas Bank, an impressive start in the IOB-Syed Ahmed memorial hockey tournament at the Mayor Radhakrishnan Stadium on Monday. IOB beat Tiruchi 9-0.

CPCL tournament
The Pattabiraman Ball Badminton Club will conduct the CPCL Trophy, State-level Men Fives (two seniors) tournament, sponsored by Chennai Petroleum Corporation Ltd, on July 14 and 15 at Dasas Higher Secondary School Grounds, Tiruninravur.
