The eleven-day Brahmotsavam at Sri Yelagiri Thayar Samedha Sri Kalyana Venkata Ramana Swamy Temple, Athanavoor, Yelagiri Hills, Vellore district, begins today. The members of the Yelagiri Thayar Trust had planned to construct separate niches to house the new idols of deities such as Ganapathy, Chakkarathazhwar, Yoga Narasimhar, Anjaneyar and 12 azhwars at the temple. The work is now complete and consecration for the same will be performed on September 24, between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m.
The rituals for the 11-day Brahmotsavam will be initiated today. The first day’s event (Sept. 22), beginning with ‘Gho’ puja at 7.30 a.m. also includes Senai Mudaligal procession (10 a.m.) and Sri Selvar utsavam (5 p.m.).
