Apple’s signature new feature in this update is 'Night Shift'. The tech giant has tweaked other applications as well.

Here are some of key new features:

Night Shift: Using the clock and geolocation, the device will automatically switch to Night Shift mode, which changes the colours on the display to warmer ones. In the morning it will return to normal settings.

Notes app: It will now have an option for password protection. For devices which have Touch ID, fingerprints can be the passcode. Also, now notes can be sorted alphabetically. Along with all this, there are two new buttons added: Sketch and Checklist.

News app: Now, the user can set the application to follow news of their interest. Option for notification on latest updates has also been made available. Video can now be played right from the feed.

Health app: If you have an Apple Watch to go along with your Apple device, this addition will be an advantage. The Health app will now display your movement, exercise and at-rest data along with your goals from the Apple Watch on your device. All the health metric of the user will now be in one place and can be shared with third-party apps.

Apple Maps: A ‘Nearby’ option has been added.

Classroom app: With the new update Apple has introduced Apple IDs for education that are created and managed by school administrators.
