New IC solution launched
Silicon solutions company ON Semiconductor recently announced the launch of a new series of integrated circuits (IC), which reduce electromagnetic interference (EMI) in clock-dependent signals. The company claims that the new ICs, targeted at portable, consumer and computing applications segments, would give users “flexibility” to reduce the EMI by customising their applications.
The company claimed that the solution was designed with the objective of “controlling costs”, while also maximising the “real estate” on printed circuit board (PCB). The new solutions are offered at a price of $0.24 per unit in lots of 10,000 units.
Award for innovation in telecom industry
Bangalore-based telecom equipment manufacturer Tejas Networks recently won the Aegis Graham Bell award for innovation in “green” telecom technologies.
Sanjay Nayak, managing director and chief executive officer of Tejas Networks, was also nominated for “T20 of Indian Telecom Industry”, a list of top 20 “stars” driving the Indian telecom industry. The list was released by Abhijit Gangopadhyay, Dean of Aegis School of Business.
Aegis Graham Bell awards are intended to promote innovation in the field of telecom, Internet, media and entertainment segments.
TCS joins hands with SAP
Indian IT services major Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) recently announced that it is collaborating with SAP AG to develop its third version of a Retail Execution mobile application. The Indian company claimed that the partnership “is based primarily on TCS’ extensive experience in consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry implementation projects and mobile application product development”.
The application is aimed at improving productivity of sales representatives during store visits and to provide merchandisers and promotions planners with “critical insights on product placement and distribution and promotional impact”, TCS claimed.
The new version, which is to be built on SAP’s Mobile Platform, would integrate mapping, phone, camera and email features on a mobile device, enabling sales teams to drive business processes and initiate business events regardless of location, it claimed.
Satya Ramaswamy, global head, TCS Mobility Unit, said the company is already providing consulting services to SAP to deliver the service for a leading European beverages company.
Training programme for engineering students
EMC Corporation recently announced that it is launching a training and certification programme to help Indian businesses address “skill transformation” in the fields of analytics, cloud computing and data science.
The “open curriculum” is aimed at helping develop professionals who can “extract more value and insight for competitive advantage from the new expanse of data that businesses create and capture”, the company claimed. The firm hopes to train 30,000 engineering students in the first year itself.
