After a brief scare that sent the internet into a frenzy, Microsoft has confirmed that its beloved MS Paint software isn't going anywhere.
A recent article published on the company's website slotted Paint under the "deprecated" category in the upcoming Windows 10 Fall Creators Update.
This means that Paint will "not be in active development and might be removed in future releases."
Many users took the news particularly hard before Microsoft clarified that Paint would still be available.
“If there’s anything we learned, it’s that after 32 years, MS Paint has a lot of fans. It’s been amazing to see so much love for our trusty old app,” the latest post said .
Paint drawing and image processing software that made its debut in 1985. For decades, Paint was among applications installed by default on Windows-powered personal computers and drew a strong following.
Fans of the application will be able to take solace in a Paint 3-D version launched early this year.
