British journalist Piers Morgan, known to be an outspoken personality on Twitter, got trolled on the micro-blogging platform on Wednesday after he tweeted about India's performance in the Rio Olympics.
1,200,000,000 people and not a single Gold medal at the Olympics? Come on India, this is shameful. Put the bunting away & get training.

Country with 1.2 billion people wildly celebrates 2 losing medals. How embarrassing is that? >https://t.co/FYSBM7ErAf
— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) >August 24, 2016
Either Mr. Morgan hadn't realised what he was up against or he simply ran with the flow. Either way, we got to see some epic clap-backs.
Reactions ranged from warnings such as this…
>@piersmorgan Hear that sound? It's the same 1.2 billion coming for you..to troll you black and blue! Thankfully you deserve this >#Rio2016
— Sutrishna Ghosh (@Sutrishna12) >August 24, 2016
... to messages, such as this, mocking his journalism style
What is even more embarrassing are your snivelling interviews as if you had a diaper in your mouth. Sad. >https://t.co/9jf55sBwAU
— SUHEL SETH (@suhelseth) >August 24, 2016
Still, Mr. Morgan could give it back.
At least you'll never have to worry about being one of my interviewees, Suhel. I only interview famous people. >https://t.co/yPGf3TLtNr

— Ramesh Srivats (@rameshsrivats) >August 24, 2016
…Former cricketer and Team India opening batsman Virender Sehwag stepped in to gently remind Morgan something about his country.

— Virender Sehwag (@virendersehwag) >August 24, 2016
Mr. Morgan fought on.
Very embarrassing, Legend. If >@KP24 was playing, we'd win the WC. Just as we won T20 WC & he was Man of Series. >https://t.co/50X5YMQSQU
— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) >August 24, 2016
Sehwag quickly pointed out that Kevin Pieterson was born in South Africa and played for England in the 2007 World Cup, which England did not win.
KP is a legend no doubt,bt wasnt he born in SA,&by ur logic Eng shd hv won 2007WC. Why hv prblm wid our ppl, celbrtng >https://t.co/ZigCrzVG05

Some of his friends even tried to stop him, like the Australian spinner Shane Warne here:

— Shane Warne (@ShaneWarne) >August 24, 2016

— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) >August 24, 2016
And after an entire day, Mr. Morgan was still raring to go.
You're a bit quiet today, >#IndianTwitter .... nursing your bruises?
— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) >August 25, 2016
