In these days of cutting-edge competition in the corporate world, students often lose out on that coveted job due to poor resumes or lack of proper internship experiences. But now desired internships can be just a mouse-click away!

Students need not trudge from one office to another in search of internships anymore. Some online portals aim to bring the best of internships from across the country to students’ computer screens. Internshala in one such portal.

Founded in 2011 by IIT alumnus Sarvesh Agrawal, the portal acts as a medium between students and employers — helping the latter to connect with the brightest students in India. Internshala offers internships in various fields like engineering, MBA, NGO and social work, journalism and media. It also gives a chance to the students to work with various government organisations and even do international internships.

Internshala also helps students to build up an impressive resume, giving them tips on internships. To apply, a student just needs to surf around, look for the desired internship and upload his/her resume after filling up the application form. “Approximately, 40,000 students have applied through Internshala and 12,000 of them have landed internships in various companies. The portal has a monthly reach of around 1.58 lakhs,” said Sarvesh.

He added that the portal, through its events like InternFair and InternSaturday, aims to create a platform wherein interns from all over the country can interact with each other and with professionals from leading organisations.
