Jack Dorsey says Twitter verification policy system broken

Twitter on Friday said that it has paused all general verifications while they work on resolving it.

The social networking site said that verification was meant to authenticate identity and voice but is interpreted as an endorsement or indicator of importance.

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey said that Twitter agents were following verification policy correctly, but “we realized some time ago the system is broken” and needs to be reconsidered.
