‘Is Lady GaGa a man?’ and ‘Is Michael Jackson dead?’ are among the ‘Most Asked Questions Of 2009’, according to a top Internet search engine. Ask Jeeves has released a list of the most commonly asked questions it received in 2009, with the obsession over Lady Gaga’s gender the third most asked.

The site has also been flooded with questions about swine flu, Twitter, Jackson and Aleksandr Orlov - the puppet meerkat in comparethemarket.com’s hit adverts. “Last year we looked at our top questions and found that the identity of tame racing driver The Stig from Top Gear was on everyone’s minds,” the Daily Star quoted Nadia Kelly from Ask Jeeves as saying.

“This year we have had a wide variety of unusual searches. “It proves that more people than ever are turning to Internet search engines for answers to not only everyday things but weird and wacky subjects too.” Kelly said. “The internet has become the virtual textbook of choice for millions, with its ability to give quick and accurate answers to even the most bizarre questions,” Kelly added.
