Guess what is making a splash on popular networking sites these days? Indianised memes featuring an irritated yellow cartoon face of a man or woman. The face isn’t just irritated, it is helping a lot of men and women addicted to popular net working mediums convey a message. Dekh Bhai is a Meme Generator Platform which also allows a user to modify and create message. Popular as the ‘dekh bhai’ series, women especially love the one which says Pati dev, ladki hoon maggi nahin jo do minute mein tayyar ho jau . (Husband, I am a girl, not Maggi to get ready in two minutes) And to support that same meme, another dekh bhai says, ‘fact of life do minute mein maggi tayyar nahi hoti hai .’ (Maggi does not get ready in two minutes)

The others which follow have a series of hilarious messages that provide men and women a fun way to express themselves and make a point effectively. What makes Dekh Bhai memes fun is that they can be modified and created by anyone on their official page to be saved and used when needed. The result - a number of hilarious memes that take a potshot on all sorts of issues like boyfriend issues to friends and colleagues about using a deodorant along with a shower and sometimes also hints at friends who demand a 'party' for absolutely silly reasons like being able to open a can.  Somehow these memes haven’t yet taken a political turn and are mostly targeted at telling the truth as they ought to be. For instance: “ dekh bhai, paise mangey toh dosti khatam ” (look bro, if you ask for money, end of friendship).

There are some memes related to childhood days of one’s mom’s threats and of recent times where the phones are held responsible for the bad that happens to us. The most trolled is the one where a mother comments on sleeping late and threatens to burn the smart phone.

The dekh bhai has its origin from the Gujarati meme called ‘jo baka’ and is also available as an app for all android users.

Trolling on networking sites with the dekh bhai meme are fun with users quickly saving and creating their own bank of memes. The app allows memes in regional languages and users are making the most of it by creating custom made memes in Hindi. User can also customise by changing the background colour and use a female cartoon. Then there are the festive Santa Claus cartoons awaiting witty comments.
