Google on Tuesday launched Google IT Support Professional Certificate, an online certification programme meant for IT support aspirants.

The programme, which Google says is the first of its kind, will be hosted on Coursera. It will introduce students to the fundamental concepts of IT support like troubleshooting and customer service, networking, operating systems, system administration, automation, and security, according to a Google statement.

Th 64 hours of video lessons includes a mix of hands-on labs and other interactive assessments. The certification is open to everyone, regardless of prior tech experience or degree. On successful completion of certification, Google will provide an opportunity for the students to share their information directly with employers like Bank of America and Infosys, among others.

The programme, set to start on January 23, will cost $49/month (roughly ₹3133/month). Students typically have eight to 12 months to complete the certification.
