Samsung recently unveiled the new top of the range galaxy Smartphone in London thus increasing its rivalry to Apple's iPhone with a more powerful processor and a larger screen.

Let me start with the negative aspect of this phone because there is just one. The Galaxy S3 comes in two colours: pebble blue and marble white and its design has received a lukewarm response worldwide. The finish is not great and the design looks sloppy. Compared to S2 this phone has poor looks.

The positives

But S3 has got a whole lot of amazing features that will take your Smartphone experience to a new level. Samsung's S2 which raced the iPhone in sales last year has come up with S3 which has a 4.8 inch screen with an 8 MP camera packed with Google's Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich. This is a phone that can understand your intentions, recognise your voice and also lets you share moments instantly and easily.

Here are some cool features that you would not find in most mobiles:

When you are texting someone and you decide to call them simply lift the phone to your ear and the direct call facility calls that person for you.

Smart Stay is another feature that automatically recognises if you are looking at the phone and maintains a display till you view the phone.

The Smart Alert in S3 senses when you pick your phone and vibrates if you have any messages or missed calls when you were away removing the hassle to check the phone each time for calls and messages.

You can message someone and also view your favourite video or watch a movie at the same time using Pop-up play and you can also resize your video and move it to any part of your screen.

Keep two S3's back to back and share whatever you want instantly using the S Beam. This includes huge files which can be transferred with speeds upto 300 Mbps using the Wi-Fi Direct.

Seems Samsung has been inspired by HTC ONE X as the S3 has the “select your best Shot” feature after taking multiple shots.

The All Share Play which is very similar to the Air Play of the iPad lets you share info with all Samsung devices anywhere instantly.

The S Voice though not as powerful as the Siri is a personal voice assistant and helps you answer your phone, turn the music up and even tell the camera when to shoot.

Finally, this phone comes with a quad-core processor packed for fast computation and is the first of its kind and its HD Super AMOLED display just makes the experience better.

Verdict: The phone's build may not be to everyone's liking but the amazing software and hardware improvements gives users enough reasons to buy this handset. Might go on to be the best Android handset released this year.
