What is life without a laugh or two? And if those laughs are at others’ expense then there’s nothing better. I, for one, love pranking people. Nothing diabolical I assure you; but there was this one time when I had my brother call my mum’s office and convince her that I’d had a minor accident. Of course, we let her know it was a prank soon enough, before panic mode set in, that is. Another time, it was hiding in a closet and creepily belting out a ‘Is this what you were looking for?’ to anyone who opened the closet. I also remember this particularly hot summer afternoon, when we placed a Bluetooth speaker under someone’s bed while they were asleep and began playing recordings of us mewing like cats, much to their alarm.

With technology though, pranking people has just gotten so much more fun and easier. Don’t believe me? Just check out these prank apps that are sure to keep you up at night planning your next troll.

Dude, your car

It’s the one prank that’s bound to get just about anyone. After all, who wouldn’t be shocked looking at a picture of their car simply totalled or with a massive dent? I mean, you don’t have to cause any actual damage. Just click a photograph of your friend’s car, upload it on the app, apply your favourite damage filter, adjust it to make it look authentic, save the image and send it. It’s that simple. The damages range from mere scratches, dents and broken glass to a banged-up car boot and even fire or smoke. The look on your friend’s face as he/she races to inspect the vehicle will obviously be priceless.

Ghost camera

This is the perfect app if you love giving people the creeps. As the name suggests, the app plants ghostly images in your otherwise innocent photograph. Simply take a photo using the app’s camera, add realistic ghost images and create that creepy photograph. With over 40 ghostly effects to choose from, you can have a wild time scaring people. Just try not to go overboard with the effects, to keep it more realistic and convincing.

Atomic fart

Take the awkwardness surrounding flatulence to a new level. Simply download the app onto your smartphone and choose from a range of fart sounds. Choose a crowded area or room and let loose. Do remember to keep on that mask of innocence while people around you look for the source of the fart. Better still, embarrass a friend or annoying sibling by blaming it on them.

Prank pack

If you want all of the above prank apps but don’t have enough phone memory, this could be your go-to app. The app has a set of the best funny pranks; the ultimate trolling collection if you will.

Apart from some familiar pranks, the app also has a range of new and original pranks that you might want to try out on a loved one.

From whoopee cushions and farts, hair clipper and fake crash to emergency caller and the blue screen of death, this one’s got it all. While the app itself is free, some of the featured pranks come at a premium. You can unlock them by earning virtual currency by watching videos and ads.
