Samsung launches Galaxy K zoom in India

South Korean handset maker Samsung Electronics on Tuesday launched in India a new smartphone, featuring a specialised camera with 10X zoom, for Rs.29,999.

Galaxy K zoom, which will be available from Wednesday, offers an advanced technical camera system designed to offer the control and functionality of a professional camera.

Featuring a 4.8-inch screen, the handset has a hexacore processor (1.3 GHz quad core + 1.7 GHz dual core processor) and is based on the latest Android Kitkat operating system.

“With the launch of Galaxy K zoom, Samsung brings consumers a unique combination of a stylish smartphone with advanced photography capabilities,” Samsung India VP Marketing (Mobile and IT) Asim Warsi said in a statement. It sports 2GB RAM and 8GB internal memory (expandable up to 64GB) and 20.7 MP rear camera with 10x optical zoom and 2 MP front camera.

Last year, Samsung had launched another smartphone with specialised camera capabilities, Samsung S4 Zoom which featured a 16MP camera with 10X optical zoom. It was priced at Rs.29,900.
