Mobile for youngsters to instantly connect with Facebook

Telecommunication service provider Vodafone Essar on Tuesday launched a new mobile phone targeted at young individuals who can instantly connect with online social networking site Facebook.

The new phone, Vodafone Blue, allows users to share and connect with their friends anytime. The phone is designed specifically to bring an “outstanding and affordable integrated mobile Facebook experience to pay as you go”, a company statement here said.

Vodafone Blue was developed in collaboration with Facebook and brings the qualities of a smartphone together with social networking functions. It is priced at Rs. 4,950 (inclusive of all taxes).

“The mobile internet plays a central role in the daily lives of millions Vodafone customers, many of whom are avid Facebook users. The phone has been designed to let everyone experience the fun of connecting with friends on the go.” Vodafone Essar Chief Marketing Officer Kumar Ramanathan said.

Vodafone Blue has a designated “F” button that lets users upload pictures update status at a single click. Vodafone Blue offers unlimited access to Facebook for a year from the date of its purchase, the statement added.
