Seene, an iOS App developed by U.K.-based Obvious Engineering, allows iPhone users to capture and share 3D images. The free App that burst into the scene earlier this month uses the smartphone’s sensors and WebGl technology to put out images in 3D that will allow users to shift perspective. Users have shared most 3D images of small toys. There are a few profile photos too but most look a bit eerie. The images via Seene can be viewed on Web Browsers that have WebGl support. David Pogue heads to Yahoo!
One of the most respected technology writers David Pogue is heading to Yahoo! from New York Times . He will be building a new consumer-tech website for Yahoo!, he has written on his personal blog. “Actually, “site” doesn’t even cover it. I’ll be writing columns and blog posts each week, of course, and making my goofy videos. But my team and I have much bigger plans, too, for all kinds of online and real-world creations.”
Google’s new Nexus 5
Following up on their success of the Nexus 4 phones launched last year, Google is gearing up for a debut of its new five-inch screen smartphone Nexus 5, later this month. The unveiling is expected on October 28 but already the Internet is abuzz with leaked images of the smartphone being put together by LG. The Nexus 5 is expected to feature the latest version of Android operating system Kit Kat (Android 4.4). The Nexus series of phones come directly through collaboration with Google and will feature their stock Android OS without any of the ‘skins’ that other vendors such as Samsung, HTC and Sony will add. In short, these are the “pure” Android phones.
