SAP Labs India organised a two-day event on its India localisation portfolio that is developed and supported by SAP Labs, Bangalore. The India Localisation Summit 2011, running into its fourth year in succession, was held on February 17-18 at the company's campus in Whitefield. It saw participation by over 350 customer representatives from across the country, representing over 160 organisations, a press release from the firm stated.
The event focused on empowering SAP partner base with detailed knowledge on the solution offerings, and the need for localisation in operations and financials. Experts from SAP presented the various localisation functionalities released over the year 2010 and those planned for release in this year. The summit was also a forum for customer representatives to share and discuss industry trends, product innovations, consumer expectations and best-practices.
The localisation portfolio covers general purpose applications such as core business processes / cross application solutions as well as industry-specific applications offered by SAP. The team addresses the various taxation requirements — Income Tax, Professional Tax, VAT, TDS, TCS and Service Tax — across areas such as HCM, Logistics, Financials and Industry Solutions, the press release added. The keynote was delivered by Navaneet Mishra, Vice-President, SAP Labs India, who demonstrated how ERP software localisation is key to success of the ecosystem.
Web-based solution
