South Korea’s LG Electronics Inc., the world’s third largest mobile phone manufacturer, received the highest rank for the third consecutive time in a customer satisfaction survey conducted by the U.S.-based marketing firm, J. D. Power and Associates, the company said on Friday.

The 2010 Wireless Traditional Mobile Phone Evaluation Study by J.D. Power and Associates gave LG Electronics the highest score of 729 on a 1,000-point scale, as the South Korean company became the top ranked brand in the survey for the fifth time since 2003.

“Mobile satisfaction rankings represent brand loyalty and it’s a good indication to future sales growth,” LG said in a statement.

The survey was based on evaluations by 13,590 American customers who ranked their satisfaction level in ease of operation, physical design, handset features, and battery function, it added.

Sanyo Electric Co., a Japanese brand, came in second at 712 points followed by South Korea’s Samsung Electronics Co. who received 703 points, according to the survey.
