Two more swine flu death in Gujarat, death toll touches 114

Two women died of swine flu at civil hospital here, taking the death toll due to the disease to 114 in the State, health officials said on Thursday.

Jigna Pandya (35), a resident of Geet Gurjari society here was admitted on Wednesday night after being tested positive of swine flu, but died after short treatment, they said.

Bhavna Solanki (20), a resident of Bantva town of Bhavnagar district, who had been undergoing swine flu treatment at the civil hospital here since last week also succumbed to H1N1 virus early this morning, Resident Medical Officer (RMO) J G Bambhaniya said.

The official said that 29 persons were admitted to the civil hospital’s isolation ward on Thursday, out of which 10 have tested positive, while reports of others are awaited.

Out of 114 deaths due to swine flu, 106 are from Gujarat while eight belong to Rajasthan, who were brought here for treatment.
