Diasense, a medical diagnostic damage detection device invented by Jairaj Kumar, an NRI scientist hailing from Chittoor district, is all set to take the commercial market by storm. The medical device will be a great boon to diabetics as it can detect hidden possibilities of any lurking danger due to diabetes.
The Central Government recognised the commercial potential as well as national importance of the product and hence offered to fund the project through Technology Development Board which comes under the Ministry of Science and Technology.

Screening of individuals on this device will help them prevent the onset of complications due to diabetes. A medical doctor by profession, Dr. Kumar has done extensive research on diabetes. He developed technology to detect diabetic neuropathy. His achievements include Phillips Best Inventor Award in 2009, DST-Lockheed Martin Gold Medal in the year 2010 and Best Medical Electronics Product of the year 2011, USA. He has written over 50 international research papers, and has filed over 13 patents.

This highly sensitive device can detect changes even in short intervals (monthly testing) thereby identifying minor or major deterioration or reversal of the condition.
