Rally for eye donation

As part of the national eye donation fortnight celebrations, Rotary Club of Madras T. Nagar in association with Rotary Rajan Eye Bank organised a rally here on Sunday.

Flagging off the rally, actor Vijay urged the youth to spread awareness of eye donation keeping in mind the large number of people affected by blindness in the country. Students from various colleges participated in the rally.

The Rotary Club has requested the State government to link the 108 helpline to eye donation awareness and facilitation, said Rotary International 3230 District Governor Olivannan.

“This is part of our mission to eradicate curable blindness and make healthcare delivery better,” said Mohan Rajan, District Chairman, Eye Care City, R.I.Dist 3230.

S.S. Sukumar, president of IMA Tamil Nadu and Mayor M.Subramanian participated.
