Tinnex injection launched

Lincoln Pharmaceuticals Ltd. has launched “Tinnex Injection” in India in collaboration with Phafag AG, Switzerland. Tinnitus is commonly known as “ringing in the ear” and the injection will provide relief to the millions of Indian’s suffering from this disease.

The LPL has sold 500 Ampoules of Tinnex Injection all over India in the last one month. Already 70 per cent of patients on treatment have experienced relief from Tinnitus, a statement issued by the company said.

Speaking on the launch of the new drug, Mahendra G. Patel, MD, Lincoln Pharmaceutical, said, “The launch of Tinnex Injection makes Lincoln Pharmaceutical Ltd. the first company to provide a treatment for Tinnitus in India. Tinnex Injection will be a boon to patients who have been silently suffering from this disease and we at Lincoln Pharmaceutical Ltd are very happy to be a part of the solution.”

He further added, “With over 48 million people suffering from Tinnitus in India, there is a huge potential for Tinnex Injection. With our ongoing efforts to promote Tinnex all over India through well trained field people, we are aiming to create substantial demand in the first year itself. This product will further strengthen our position in the Indian pharmaceutical industry and will go a long way in establishing the brand.”

The company has started marketing the product in ethical prescription markets in the Otolaryngology segment approaching M.S. ENT (Specialized in cochlear implants) surgeons in addition to conducting Continuing Medical Education (CME) to update physicians and other health professionals about the new drug and its availability. The CME involves a well structured detailed presentation made by trained Indian doctors.

In the second week of May 2011, Dr. Ehrenberger, main Researcher of Caroverine molecule used in cochlear synaptic Tinnitus, will be coming down from Switzerland to conduct CMEs for professionals in India.

LPL has also launched an interactive website www.tinnex.in to provide on-line help to patients and professionals looking for answers to Tinnitus. The website will also offer relevant updates on Tinnitus management, Tinnex features and benefits of this new drug.
