Youth4Jobs (Y4J), a not for profit organisation which trains and places differently abled graduates in corporate companies, is organising ‘Able+ Corporate Connect’ a sensitisation programme for representatives of 70 companies from Andhra Pradesh in the city on Friday.
The programme would be organised in association with the AP Information Technology Academy (APITA) and Axis Bank.
At a press conference here, co-founder of the Y4J Gopal Garg said the Y4J had been training more than 750 physically challenged persons every year at the four centres in Vijayawada, Rajamahendravaram, Tirupati and Vizag and helped a majority of them get jobs in corporate companies in Hyderabad and other cities.
Through the Corporate Connect programme, the companies would be exposed to the abilities of the youth whose performance is on par with any other youth. The Y4J alumni, who are placed in various companies, will speak at the programme.
Mr. Gopal said the Y4J Vijayawada centre had trained 368 candidates since 2015 and 205 of them had been placed in various companies. This year they were planning to train and place 140 candidates graduating from colleges in and around Vijayawada.
APITA CEO Winny Patro said the Academy would help the Y4J find candidates in the capital region and the students in professional colleges associated with the APITA would get an opportunity to undergo training at the Y4J centres.
The Y4J also provides training to the companies willing to employ the youth and help them create infrastructure, office environment and others.
