iPhone/iPad update plugs security leaks

August 07, 2011 05:23 pm | Updated 05:23 pm IST - Berlin

Apple has released an update for iPhone and iPad software. The new iOS Version 4.3.5 has a gap that would have allowed attackers to manipulate data transfers (SSL and TLS), but this is now closed by the update, reported the manufacturer.

The problem was noticed due to faulty checks of security certificates. Affected are the iPhone 3GS, the iPhone 4, iPod Touch models starting with the third generation and the iPad. To get the update, users have to connect their device to a Mac or PC and follow the directions provided in iTunes.
