Six alleged poachers were caught on Thursday in and around the Kaziranga National Park. Acting on a tip-off, Forest Protection Force personnel launched an operation in the Kohora range of the Park and nabbed three people on Friday morning, forest officials said. Based on their interrogation, three others were picked up subsequently, while one managed to flee, they added.

A magazine and seven silencers were recovered from the apprehended men, the officials said.

The arrested men revealed that the one who managed to escape had an AK-47 and a .303 rifle in his possession.
