Despite fall in nutritional elements in agriculture soil, the yield is increasing in Haridwar, the state assembly was informed today.
Uttarakhand Agriculture minister Trivendra Singh Rawat made this disclosure, while replying to a question of Surendra Rakesh of the Bahujan Samaj Party.
However, Mr. Rawat said, the government is concerned over the fall of nutritional elements in agriculture soil in Haridwar and taking measures in this regard.
Based on the results of examination of soil samples, farmers are being advised to use fertilisers to restore their land's fertility, he said.
Apart from this, the government is distributing nutrients among the farmers at 50 per cent subsidised rates,
Mr. Rawat said, adding, the farmers are also being encouraged for making compost and organic fertilisers to deal with the problem.
