Celebrating biodiversity

It was a riot of colour and the smell of fresh grain at Basantpur Village, 120 km from Hyderabad on Friday. Sankaranti - the festival of harvest is special here as ‘biodiversity in farming’ is what separates the farmers here from the rest, who painstakingly practice organic farming brought to them by the Deccan Development Society.
