Johnson has introduced Tactiles — vitrified porcelain tiles that have indicators to assist the visually-impaired, and Pergo has floors that kill bacteria naturally!
“An evolution in flooring” says the Pergo Group with its introduction of anti-microbial floors. Says a senior executive of the company, “Thirty years ago, Pergo started a revolution with laminate floors, and in its quest for setting new standards in laminate flooring, it has transformed floors forever!” The anti-microbial variety launched is a simple technology that enhances the cleanliness of floors in sensitive environments such as hospitals, old age homes, hotels and restaurants. Tiny traces of silver ions present in the anti-microbial wooden laminate floor surface prevent bacteria from multiplying and they die out.
H. & R. Johnson (India) Ltd., has launched two new products under its Endura Brand — Tactiles and Tosca Anti-Skid Tiles.Tactiles are non-fading, non-slippery vitrified unglazed porcelain tiles used as ground surface indicators. They act as indicators to assist blind people. Says a spokesperson of Johnson India, “Emphasis has been placed on designs to provide safety, dignity and independence for people who are visually-impaired. Features such as colours to represent demarcation make it suitable for both internal and external usage.” Tosca anti-skid series is specially designed for bathroom floors, and the textured surface is resistant to dampness, safe to walk on when wet, and easy to clean.
