GENERATING POWER: A solar thermal power electric power plant in Sanlucar La Mayor. The plant works by using sunlight to generate heat. Arrays of reflective mirrors are used to concentrate sunlight onto a central receiver which uses the collected heat to produce steam to power an engine to generate electricity which can be distributed through the electricity grid. It is the largest solar plant in Europe capable of producing 11 megawatts of electricity.
