CUPOLA: A cupola is a structure that resembles a dome sitting snugly atop the roof. It sort of appears as a cup turned over on the roof while the structure on the roof can be of any design. Based on one's choice it could be shaped as round, hemispherical and so on.
CANTILEVER: This is a projecting structure, usually a beam, whose one end is supported while the other one appear to hang in air. A common example of cantilever construction happen to be balconies and canopies.
BUTTERFLY ROOF: This is a roof that takes the shape of butterfly's wings when gables dip in the middle.
CHAJJA: This is a sunshade that is either sloping or horizontal and placed above a window or entrance.
It is cast along with lintels and offers protection from sun and shower.
MEZZANINE: This is an intermediate level that is inserted between floor and ceiling. Occupying a partial floor space, it comes as a low-ceiling and projects out appearing like a balcony and offers utility value in cases where space happens to be a constraint.
PORCH: A porch is what extends above the entrance to of a dwelling or a commercial establishment offering a cover.
Usually it is supported by pillars and juts out straight at the approach of the building.
