Not cricket, certainly

This circus has always had the ‘spot’light

With cricket being played so late in the night

Tricks of the trade performed in the ring

Puppets on an invisible pulling string

Cheerleaders gyrating with ‘fixed’ smiles

While the myriad stakeholders make their piles

‘Owners’ who do not own up to any mistake

Business as usual ”, with so much at stake?

Maximum noise and limitless moves

Looks as if the public approves

So much going on under everybody’s nose

In a matter of minutes, one can make crores

Strategic time out to clean up the mess?

Can’t see anyone coming up to confess

Methinks the artistes will carry on with the show

But who is the ringleader – we don’t know !
