Creating creativity

In our day-to-day life we come across millions of people being creative. But we are scared to raise our own kids to be creative. We want them to study hard by actively killing their creativity on the other side.

We marvel at the level of thinking and even become jealous while admiring the success of creative people. But actually we are scared to the heart to develop and encourage creativity in our own successors. We never want them to be different, to think differently and do things in a manner that is different from others. But we expect them to perform better than all others.

Is it logical at all? To overtake someone who does things better in their own pursuits, just by following their footsteps? Great personalities have attained their heights by doing things differently and doing things that had never existed in this world. They have chosen paths that are different from others to do things differently. The ones who merely cram can never succeed to reach the pinnacle. Let the fresh twigs capture a desired stalk to spread the climbers around to grow and reach the top.

Parents are used to dumping their own aspirations over little minds convincingly, to try and mould the younger minds to think that they are meant for it, without ever discovering themselves. Subsequently, the child also trains itself to try harder to perform well. It runs the great risk of affecting the psychological condition of the kid, with de-motivation, fear, low self-esteem and so on kicking in. Being emotionally tied up, parents usually confound support and protection with authorisation. Parents should support children when they are low and protect them irrespective of the times and situation, with friendly counselling and suggestions. But they are pressured to practise and do things that don’t suit their passion or interest. Let us not waste the natural and inborn traits of success seeded within an individual.

Merely cramming subjects doesn’t mean success. It depends on the way a task is performed. It’s a concept of a concept in a dimension that is unlike the view of anyone else. Creating new advertisements or developing new products alone doesn’t mean creativity.

Interestingly, creativity could be decided not only in professional aspects. It is said there are eight types of creativity. If your ward talks well to convince you, be proud that he or she has social and interpersonal creativity. It is the art of communicating ideas, discussing with others, and building rapport.

If you find your baby tapping things to make a sound or mumble, don’t scare it and interrupt the music; he or she may be blessed with musical creativity. This creativity could be identified through various pointers such as interest in attending concerts, playing instruments, humming melodies, singing with others and enjoying rhythms.

If your kid shows interest in shopping or in choosing items spending a long time, or scribbling all over your beautifully finished walls, don’t forbid their sense of taste: they are probably bestowed with spatial creativity. Such people devote their time to use any space effectively. It could be through painting, drawing, designing, or arranging rooms.

Children who are highly active are always a matter of concern for parents, but you can divert their interest and activity into their own boundaries. Yes, it is possible. It is very simple because you just need to understand that your kid has kinesthetic creativity. Those with physical creativity love sports, enjoy movement, and dream of tours and journeys. A sports personality, or an adventurous explorer or traveller is lurking here.

Thanks to the huge exposure young people nowadays have, they have awareness about unexpected things. Many parents admire their children. But don’t just stop with admiring. You can shape them to be great scholars with logical creativity. They can easily excel in mathematics, solve problems and balance things easily.

But some children will be very calm and inexpressive, and this may worry parents. But relax: they can perform better than anyone. They may have intrapersonal creative intelligence. They mostly prefer to be alone. They have great scope to become scientists of philosophers. They usually read alone, find answers to questions, meditate and have things rolling in their head always.

Some with natural creativity would love to be in a scenic view and stare out of the window. Those nestlings could one day become a great biologist or a wildlife photographer or landscape artist to earn fame. Some always love to chit-chat with friends or family: encourage them so they have the ability to narrate. It is a gift of verbal or linguistic creativity when they can tell stories, write essays, and converse easily with people. This opens opportunities to them to be an orator, writer, poet, scholar or teacher.

The shoes of one person never fit another, so don’t force your child to wear other people’s shoes. Help them get their own, to prevent them from falling.
