Whole new worlds

The discovery by NASA of seven Earth-like planets orbiting around a star, around 40 light years from the Sun, with conditions favourable for the existence of life is a significant development in our search for other life forms in the universe (“7 Earth-like planets spotted”, Feb.23). The fabulous discovery has lent credence to the theory that we are not alone in this universe. This discovery shows that despite our impressive advancements in science and technology over the centuries, our understanding of the universe has not reached its full potential. Perhaps more such discoveries will be made over the years.
