What better way to phrase the alibis of modern age than by the headline given given for Araina Huffington’s piece “Phones become smarter, people get dumber” (Jan. 13)? While striving to make life simpler, we have made it more complex. We have been so handicapped by our phones that we don’t have time to introspect on things that give us true happiness. It’s time we seriously consider the drawbacks of technology and maintain a balance between materialism and spiritualism.
