Was it pilot suicide?

The article “ >The possibility of pilot suicide ” (March 26) gave me the jitters. That the pilots themselves can harm passengers seems to be another point frequent fliers and the first-time air passenger will now have to contend with. The writer, a former airline instructor pilot and aviation safety instructor, has not spelt out any panacea for this.

While in any vehicle operated on land, air or sea, it is accepted that the fate of all passengers is in the hands of the steerer and on his state of sanity, the mystery behind the disappearance of flight MH 370 shows that steps must be taken to ensure the preservation of technical data. In air travel, the entire crew must be well-trained to be able to step in in case there is deviant action by the pilot/s.
