Visit called off

March 26, 2017 11:41 pm | Updated 11:41 pm IST

It is unfortunate that actor Rajnikant has been forced to cancel his visit to Sri Lanka after objections were raised from certain quarters (“Don’t politicise my visit: Rajini”, March 26). These forces should realise that the actor was slated to handover keys to houses built on the island-nation for displaced Tamils, which is a noble cause. If these pseudo champions of the Tamil cause were really interested in the welfare of the Tamil population, they should have explored civilised means to fight for the rights of Tamils.
