The crash in the bullion market which saw gold prices come tumbling down has come as a rude shock to investors who thought they were buying the safest of all assets. The future trading in gold, which is on the rise, panic selling by investors and the ascendancy of the dollar have triggered the fall. Gold enthusiasts would do better to invest in other assets. However, the prevailing market sentiment presents a good buying opportunity for those lusting after the yellow metal.

The gold prices were unrealistically high over the past few months. From time immemorial gold has been an alternative investment option with easy liquidity. Indian markets have seen mushrooming of gold finance activities. Despite the fall, the prices of gold are above the real value.
