The article, “Giving AAP a fair chance” (Jan. 30), was an unbiased and balanced description of the Aam Aadmi Party’s prognosis, a refreshing break from the vociferous rhetoric permeating the social media. The AAP has undeniably raised some serious questions about the prevailing political establishment. Instead of criticising the fledgling party, other parties must introspect on their own performance. Especially given that the Delhi government’s performance last month was one of the best in recent times.

The only reason we witness AAP-bashing — sponsored by the media, politicians and corporate houses — today is that the party has managed to disrupt many of the prevailing structures, nexuses and mechanisms that enable corruption. Conventional politics has been dealt a severe blow by the AAP, a game-changer in the truest sense of the term. Vested interests — financial, power and so on — have taken a pounding since the advent of the pioneering party.
