On reading the editorial “Netanyahu’s agendas” (Oct. 12), one has the uneasy feeling that the U.S. thinks it alone has “national interests” which the rest of the world should not undermine at any forum. On the slightest provocation, America can impose sanctions against any country and now it is Iran’s turn. The rest of the world is expected to oblige the super bully, right or wrong. Israel thinks it can ride roughshod over Palestinians by expanding its settlements in the Occupied Territories, and the Palestinians and their well-wishers cannot question this because America, Britain and certain countries in Europe feel guilty about what happened to the Jews at the hands of Hitler. But in what way are the Palestinians responsible for the Holocaust?
