The election tracker survey conducted by the Centre for the Study of Developing Societies for >CNN-IBN and The Hindu says that the >ruling AIADMK is better placed in Tamil Nadu than its arch rival DMK and that the strength of the two major national parties, Congress and BJP, has also increased (July 24). If the survey is indicative of what is in store, a pre-poll alliance with the AIADMK will be beneficial to both the parties.

The report from Hyderabad says TDP president Chandrababu Naidu’s failure to win back the people and his flip-flop over the Telangana issue have pushed his party to the third place in all regions. But the recent gram panchayat elections saw the TDP emerging on the top. Surveys do not project the real picture.
