The dedication of a full page to Sachin Tendulkar on the occasion of his 40th birthday (April 24) was quite welcome. But it is also an occasion to suggest that he should retire from Test Cricket. Can’t the selectors and his fans be objective and tell him that his time is up?
As a die-hard fan of Sachin, I would like to remember his exploits against Warne, McGrath, Wasim and Waqar.
It pains me when I see him pushing and prodding, and getting bowled by ordinary bowlers.

No one can undermine Tendulkar’s feats and his contribution to cricket. He certainly deserves the nation’s appreciation and respect. But when his presence in the national test team cannot even be justified, was it necessary to publish a full page of articles praising his feats which he achieved long ago?

The feature on Sachin Tendulkar was a straight sixer reminding all Indians to emulate and follow this legend in not just the game of cricket but also other aspects of life. He remains invincible. Although I am not a cricket buff, I feel he is one player who has elevated Indian cricket. I join the nation in wishing him a happy birthday.
