Restore free laddus

January 05, 2010 12:37 am | Updated 12:39 am IST

This refers to the report that the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams management has done away with the free ‘laddu’ system for pilgrims undertaking the dharma darshan from Jan 1, 2010. The reason — it is incurring huge losses.

That the TTD has chosen to weigh the satisfaction of a devotee in terms of monetary profit is unfortunate. I request the TTD authorities to restore the distribution of free laddus. The size of the laddus can be smaller but the practice should not be given up.
